Paul Modrich is a biochemist credited with the discovery of mismatch repair鈥攁 method of repairing errors in DNA 鈥攁nd its role in aging, cancer and other diseases. He is a recipient of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2015 and a member of the National Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Medicine and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Modrich is the James B. Duke Professor of Biochemistry at Duke University Medical Center and a Howard Hughes investigator. Modrich competed in STS and ISEF in 1964 and is a member of the Society鈥檚 Honorary Board
